Team Nu-Swift [english]
Team Nu-Swift originated in 2008 as a group of cyling friends. Our focus is on both competitive and non-competitive rides on racing and mountain bikes. These rides include cyclo’s, traditional classics and beach races. Since 2013 the triathlon disciplines have been added, including 2 winter triathlons in Groningen and Assen, ensuring a broad and varied program on both a competitive and recreational level. We strive to combine pleasure and personal achievement.
The core members
Team Nu-Swift’s core members since the beginning are Alexander, Jan-Willem, Hans and Michiel. We train together on a weekly basis. Over the years a steady group of some 20 athletes have joined our team in varying formations to enter in specific events. One of our regular team guests is a 8-fold Dutch triathlon champion Frank Heldoorn and his son Niek, an upcoming and promising young star.
Team play and love for the sport
Team play and love for the sport are important to us. Training together, sweating it out together, but also enjoying the amazing scenery and landscapes we come across, and experiencing the enthusiasm of the crowd alongside the road, cheering us on. The best thing about triathlon is that every athlete can participate by picking the discipline he likes best. Nevertheless, we always try to push our limits and improve our achievements.
Our home base is Zeewolde
Here we support the Zeewolder Endurance 1/6 Triathlon where our complete team always participate to promote Nu-Swift. Frank Heldoorn won the 2014 edition for Team Nu-Swift and in the combined rankings Team Nu-Swift also won first prize. In Zeewolde we also support and participate in the Loko Runs (winterseason).
We are proud of all our sponsors:
In 2015 a new ladies team will be formed. Team captain Jutine van der Kuijl will represent Nu-Swift at various events with her woman foursome.
Our spring training camp
An annual altitude/mountain training week, has been a great success from its first edition in 2008 and is a fun warm-up for the summer season. In March 2014 a group of 14 enthusiastic cyclist enjoyed a week climbing the volcano Teide on Tenerife.
